In press reports, Hard Rock Cafe International Inc. has indicated that it is seeking to raise $250 million to expand its business, which includes hotels, casinos, and themed bars.
The Hard Rock brand now extends to more than 175 venues in more than 53 countries around the world, including 139 cafes and 16 Hotels/Casinos.
Hard Rock Cafe International Inc. (Orlando, Florida) is owned by the Seminole Tribe of Florida, a sovereign native American Indian tribe. The acquisition from the The Rank Group, Plc was completed in March 2007. The first Hard Rock Cafe (“HRC”) was founded in London (England) by Isaac Tigrett and Peter Morton, opening its doors to the public on June 14, 1971. Following the First Unit, Tigrett and Morton each expanded Hard Rock to new regions, a bifurcation of brand ownership which was subsequently re-consolidated by Mecca, then The Rank Group, Plc.
